Here’s to them underneath that burning sun do they know it’s Christmastime at all?

It’s still windy out there.

So I get into work yesterday afternoon. I pull into my usual spot, and realize I won’t be able to get out because of a snow drift. Long story short, I parked under the overhang. The acting manager neglected to tell us that if it gets really bad, we can leave. I found this out by sarcastically texting the general manager the photo above with Merry Christmas. That’s when he told us. We stayed until 15 minutes before closing. We hadn’t had a customer in 2 and a half hours.

Some idiots: (I think they have the thought – “if they’re open, it’s my duty to try and make it there to buy bullshit.”)

  • The old guy that has a portable oxygen unit comes in complaining that you can’t see the highway. Total white out. I ask why he came in then. His answer: rice. The wife is making cabbage rolls.
  • The woman in the sports car that came in for two cream soda dr peppers. 15 minutes later a regular comes in on a snowmobile, saying a sports car is in the ditch. Karma at its finest.
  • High school kids. Because, why not? I get it. You’re bored. But come on y’all literally just got your license. you have no experience driving in white out conditions.

Thankfully pretty much all the regulars came in as they were getting off work. I shovelled a couple of times. I’m not looking forward to digging out here at the flat. Then I quickly have to pop over to the tiny grocery store for bacon for brunch tomorrow.

It’ll be a somewhat busy day off today. Shovelling, bacon, and making pancakes. Crystal will say, nah but we’ll make them. There’s no wrestling on this weekend. The WWE is on Christmas vacation. And all the live shows have aired, and some that were supposed to be live have been filmed and aired.

So let’s ingest some coffee, and wait for the sun to rise. Boom, Shaka Laka! Let’s gooo!

It’s Christmas time in Hollis, Queens Mom’s cookin’ chicken and collard greens

Good Friyay morning my friends. It’s the end of the week. All that separates me and the weekend, is a simple 8 hour shift. It’s cold and blowing outside, and we’re seeing snow fall. However with a twist. The wind is blowing so hard, the snow is falling sideways.

Good times.

It’s forecasted to be windy all day.

Work wasn’t bad yesterday. It was slow at the beginning, but we managed to get through just over 100 customers. We’d have a couple, then nothing. Then a burst of 3 or 4. Then quiet again. It was a nice day. My co-worker said what we were thinking: it gets quiet, and we wish for customers, then they’d come, and we’d be like””OMG, why do they have to come?!”

Tomorrow, we don’t plan on leaving the house. For me, I don’t plan on leaving the property. Since it snowed yesterday, and today. I’ll have to deal with the snow drifts, and shovel out to the road. I don’t mind shovelling, but it’s not my favourite thing to do.

Least I get paid to do it at work. At The Flat, I just do what I’m contractually obligated to do. But that’s a problem for future Shawshank. Future me, most of the time hates past me.

Ich hätte gern noch etwas Kaffee.

du bist ein edler Zweig! Du grünest uns den Winter

Good morning! According to the weather app, we’ve received just over a foot of snow. But those totals will be hard to believe, as we’ve had a tonne of wind all last night, into this morning. I’m sure there’s drifts everywhere.

Apparently, there’s a bit of a kerfluffle over on NXT. There was a match for the North American Championship. There was a bit of a botch in the match, and the wrong person broke script one. She was very surprised, and it caused the brand to scramble, as they filmed the episode next week, so the wrestlers could have the week off for Christmas. Apperently, they had to recall the other wrestlers so they could refilm some segments.

Work wasn’t too bad last night. In an effort to give a co-worker an extra shift, we had three people on last night. During a blizzard. I did a tonne of cleaning, and even shovelled outside. By 8, I couldn’t handle being there anymore. Three people with enough to do for just one person. I dipped, and went home.

The bed was so warm this morning. I had the added bonus of not being able to breathe through my nose, so I was uncomfortable. I reset my sleet time shit, and tried to go back to sleep. I was happy though, I found the sleepy time talk down that I like. So I can listen to it again tonight. But then I found another one this morning.

Choices, choices.

Only choice right now: coffee.

We’re slowly getting closer to the weekend.

May your days be merry and bright

Podrick was mostly quiet this morning. But when you’re trying to scale the bookcase, you have to be quiet. Soon, I hope, he’ll just climb up on to the bed and snuggle until it’s time to get up and greet the day.

Good morning! Currently we’re under a blizzard warning, and a freezing rain warning. This fun time is forecasted to start around 10 this morning, and is supposed to go most of the day, and right into the evening.

We’ll see how much actually falls. maybe it’s from years of being told the snow is coming down south, and then nothing comes, but I’m a little leery about weather people. If it snows, we’ll deal with it. If it doesn’t, we’ll make fun of the forecasters.

Famous last words: it doesn’t look that bad out there, right now.

But before the snow comes, we’re up, and having coffee. Endless energy Podrick, is just doing Podrick things. Pippin is really tired of his shit today, as he pulled down her bed in the bathroom.

Oh, alright, I’ll greet the day. Also, I just realized that my parents have not asked me what I want for Christmas. I’m sure I’ll get something that I need, not something that I want.

Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht! Alles schläft; einsam wacht

Good morning. After I unplugged the clock and shoved it into a drawer, Podrick mostly stopped. I just don’t know what he’s doing when my eyes are shut, and under two sleep masks. I managed to try and keep him off the dresser, and slept until 7:30.

And we’re under a flash freeze warning. It’s currently 38° outside, and that’s as warm as it’s going to get. The temperature will be dropping hourly now until I get home tonight. I’ll have to dress accordingly.

We’re getting closer and closer to Christmas, and tracking packages is starting to get a little testy. I have 2 packages coming. One hasn’t even left china yet. Technically. The website says it’s in the air right now. The other one has been processed out of CapitalCity as of this morning.

So, we’ll see.

I need me some coffee.

I’m told it’s Tuesday.
