When the sun’s comin’ up I got cakes on the griddle

The above is how I’m going to look when I go into work. Wide awake at 6:20. I go out and look at the clock, and go back to try and sleep until my alarm goes off. I get comfy and fall back asleep. Something in a dreams startled me, and I wake up again. Thinking it’s close to when my alarm will be going off, I get up and look. I slept for an extra 9 minutes. Screw it, I say to myself. I get up, brush my teeth and turn in the shower.

Thankfully I didn’t pack up my heavy sweaters. I get dressed, and bundle up to go outside to shovel again. The snow is light in some spots, and deep in others. It’s been snowing and blowing for 24 hours now. I don’t think that it’ll never stop, and I now live on Hoth.

I wonder if everyone will actually make it into work today. Or if I’ll be the only one. We’ll find out in a couple of hours!

Happy Tuesday!

And the days go by, like a strand in the wind

The snow started last night, it’s supposed to snow for all of today, and tomorrow. I’m not sure how I feel about this. Saturday, I was wearing shorts. Now, I’m back in layers again.

I don’t have too many plans for today. I have to dust, and plant some parsley, rosemary, and thyme. And food, I have to figure out some food too.

I’m having French pressed coffee. It’s very very good. My French press is small basically just big enough for a mug of coffee. So I’ll have to figure out the other cup, cup and a half that I usually drink in the morning.

It’s a good day, to have a good day. Happy Monday funday!

Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me

I’m awake. I’ve been up since about 6:20. I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn’t. I got out of bed about 10 minutes ago. Loaded the coffee pot, and turned it on. Then I remembered that I wanted to use my French press. I’ll press tomorrow.

We’re expecting snow – around 10 centimetres, or around 4 inches. I think though, it’s supposed to rain first, you know to get that nice layer of ice first. It’s not doing anything yet, but it’s grey and chilly out. It looks like it want to fuck some shit up out there.

Nothing much on deck this morning. I have laundry to do, and I’m hoping to actually cook breakfast. Least I’m up early enough to make all this around 10ish, so I can save room for dinner, as I’ve been invited over to Shady Acres for dinner tonight.

Now if you excuse me, the coffee is ready.

Off the Florida Keys, there’s a place called Kokomo
That’s where you want to go to get away from it all

I think I forgot to put sugar in my cup of coffee. Good morning y’all, happy Saturday. I think I slept like the dead last night. It too a while to fall asleep. I’d just get comfortable, and I’d remember to turn up the volume on my phone. Get comfortable, and remember to shut off the outside light. Get comfortable, then remember to turn on my fan. But I finally fell asleep, and woke up with a start, when my alarm went off.

Yeah, I did forget sugar in my coffee. I’ll have to put some in when I have my next cup.

As you can see by the featured image, I made some modified tacos. Modified because, I would’ve usually just used meat, but with this pan of tacos, there’s black beans and rice. So very yummy. I made 4 taco, and enough is left over for some taco bowls, if I don’t want to use the left over tortillas.

It was so yummy! I was so full last night. I really enjoyed them.

Short day at work today. I hope that it’ll be a quiet day. I have to continue doing my random price checks to see if everything is priced. I tried to explain to BossLady and most things are priced correctly. But something are priced correctly when you priced them 2 years ago as well.

Time to mainline my coffee. Stay dry out there. Just sing your favourite Train song and everything eventually will be sunny and dry.

Get some bubblegum in this motherfucker or somethin

We made it, people. It’s finally Friyay. It’s been just over a week here at The Flat, and this is the first day I actually slept until my alarm has gone off. I feel a little groggy. But the coffee will help.

Prince Philip has passed. He was 99 years old. What a long, busy life for him. RIP in peace, sir. You’ve earned it.

I got a herb kit from the local library yesterday. For a free kit, it was bigger than I thought it would be. I’ll be (hopefully) growing parsley, rosemary, and thyme. I’m excited!

But right now, coffee and news, and trying to wake up. Happy Friyay everyone. Have a great day.
