And the sky is a hazy shade of winter

It’s cold out there. And dark. My weather app says with the wind, it’s about -39🦫 out there. That’s a nasty cold. I wouldn’t want to go out in it if I didn’t have to. But I do. It’s all good. It’ll warm up a little.

I slept like the dead last night. I woke up about 2 minutes before the alarm went off. I rolled on to my back, and Pippin strolled right on to my bladder. That was a little uncomfortable. As soon as the alarm went off, I rolled out and almost ran to the bathroom.

Yesterday wasn’t too bad. BossLady was pretty low-key and mostly worked quietly at her desk. Which was nice. I had a few things to do, which I got done. I’m pretty sure that the Design Night that was supposed to happen tonight, isn’t going to happen. No one signed up for it or anything. Two is enough. We got some pretty good sales from those two nights. I packed up all the gift bag supplies, and took the upstairs. Done for another year.

The coffee is nice and warm. Hopefully the weather agrees and does the same thing. It maybe cold at the beginning of the week, but it’s warming up a little bit starting tomorrow. That’s nice. I have to move stuff around and into outside storage. Hopefully I can do it tomorrow when it’s warmer.

Ok, let’s get the day started. More coffee!

These are the days when you wish your bed was already made

Good morning mes amies. It’s dark, but not too chilly out there for the few moments I was out there. It seems like the wind has died down. It snowed a little out there. Just a dusting though. Just enough to make you feel closed in standing on the little deck.

I slept ok last night. Chaucer, I think, was trying to get into a bag full of Christmas gifts that are supposed to go south. I took the bag from him. Then I could’ve swore I heard him getting sick. I couldn’t find any sick. So I tried to go back to sleep. That was around 4 this morning.

I managed to fall back to sleep, thankfully.

The alarm startled me when it went off this morning, and now here we are. Coffee. News. And a kitten in my lap. She’s not going to be happy when I hit publish, and have to get up. But she’ll get over it. Let’s go Tuesday!

The whole shack shimmies when everybody’s movin’ around

Another Sunday over, a new Monday – just begun. Welcome back to the land of the awoken. Awaken? Woke? I don’t know, it sounded better in my mind. I’m awake, and you’re awake. Here’s some coffee. It’s hot, and tasty.

Yesterday was a pretty good day. We slept in just a little, and chores went off without a problem. In the afternoon, Crystal requested one of her favourite movies – Twilight. So I obliged here and put it on. She loves that movie.

After Twilight, I started the Hot Mess Express, and we headed up to Shady Acres, where I ordered some Christmas gifts for Crystal, and we had a yummy dinner of pulled pork, rice and coleslaw.

When we got back, we watched the season 8 finale of Supernatural, and a few episodes of Law & Order. Then we headed off to bed. Crystal made it until about 5:30ish and moved out to the couch. We’ll figure out why she gets so warm, and cool her down, so she stays in the bed.

Nothing much at all planned for today. If Crystal’s package is here I’ll head up after brunch to pick it up, and grab some more cereal from the grocery store.

So let’s have a nice relaxing Monday. Work tomorrow.

Season one review: 1899

It’s been a while since I’ve done a TV review. And it’s not because I’ve only been watching Critical Role. I’m still watching that, but since I’ve finished Campaign 2, I’ve really only been watching it once a week now. I don’t really have an interest in watching Campaign 1.

So aside from Critical Role, we have been watching a smattering of other shows, but mostly Law & Order. We discovered that Amazon Prime has like 16 seasons – so to wind down at the end of the night, we’ll watch a couple of episodes, then head off to bed.

Pitter patter…

I’ll try and review this awesome show – even though I’ve only watched it once all the way through. I probably should watch it through again.

From the creators of Dark, they bring us the next instalment of weird.

1899

The Ship.

The show started out in 1899, on a boat making its way from England to New York. It’s a boat full of immigrants.

It truly starts out as a period piece, and slowly morphs into something strange and wonderful.

And now as I try to write this, I cannot do a review. I’ll end up spoiling it. And you can only watch a show like this once – for the first time. So do me a favour, open up Netflix, and find 1899. Watch it. Binge it, then watch it again, and see if you can write a review.

Go. Now.
